VILLAGERS KNOCK THREE PAST GLENS
Loughgall kept their hopes of securing a top six finish alive with a three-goal defeat of Glentoran at the BetMcLean Oval.
The Villagers moved in front after just five minutes from a Nathaniel Ferris header as he rose highest to nod home a Pablo Andrade cross to the back post.
The Glens might have levelled just over ten minutes later when a Daire O'Connor cross from the right led to a goalmouth scramble before the visiting defence eventually cleared the danger.
At the other end Ferris found Benji Magee just outside the six-yard box but he could only fire into the side netting but, on 35 minutes, Loughgall did double their advantage after Alberto Balde rolled the ball into the path of Robbie Norton who finished with aplomb into the bottom left corner.
And Glentoran's day got even worse moments after that when David Fisher was shown a straight red card for a challenge on Andrade as the pair tussled for possession.
Warren Feeney's side might have pulled one back early in the second half only for substitute Josh Kelly to send an effort against the right post.
But Loughgall looked the more likely to score again as the game progressed, with Magee seeing a shot well stopped by Aaron McCarey with the striker later seeing another attempt cleared off the line.
However, deep into stoppage time, the visitors did bag their third when McCarey brought down Ryan Waide inside the box with Ferris stepping up to convert the subsequent spot-kick high into the net.
