SWIFTS STUN REDS AT STANGMORE
Dungannon Swifts defeated Cliftonville at Stangmore Park to put a huge dent in the Reds' title ambitions.
Thomas Maguire fired the Swifts in front after just nine minutes when he rose highest to head a Leo Alves corner past keeper David Odumosu.
Alves then might have doubled the home advantage around the quarter-of-an-hour mark only for his long range effort to fizz just the wrong side of the far post.
The Reds had opportunities to draw level with Joe Gormley rolling the ball just wide from Sean Stewart's cross while an Odhran Casey attempt from the edge of the area met a similar fate.
Kealan Dillon will be disappointed at not doing better when he fired straight at Odumosu while, just before the break, Ronan Hale failed to hit the target from the edge of the area.
But the Reds did equalise around the hour mark when a mix-up in the Swifts defence allowed Chris Curran to win possession and slot into an unguarded net.
However Dungannon regained the lead with seven minutes remaining when substitutes James Knowles and Ben Gallagher combined for the latter to fire beyond Odumosu.
Then, right at the end, Knowles made sure of the points with a close range finish after Kris Lowe had made an initial goalline clearance.
