WINCHESTER AND KENNEDY ON TARGET FOR CRUES
A goal early in each half proved enough for Crusaders to get the better of Glenavon at Seaview.
Jude Winchester opened the scoring with just ten minutes on the clock when his 25-yard drive took a big deflection off Daniel Wallace to wrong foot Glenavon keeper Mark Byrne.
Niall Quinn came close to levelling a few minutes later with a ball from wide on the right that bypassed Jonny Tuffey only to come back off the left post before hitting the Crues keeper and going out for a corner.
At the other end Adam Lecky failed to get a strong enough connection to a Jordan Forsythe cross while Paul Heatley could only send the ball straight at Byrne later in the half.
But the Crues did double their lead on 54 minutes when Ben Kennedy rose highest to nod a Ross Clarke cross from the right into the bottom left corner.
And there was almost a third after Heatley played Jarlath O'Rourke through only for Byrne to make a near post save just before Philip Lowry was denied by a goalline clearance from Jack Malone.
The visitors had two chances as the second half progressed with Quinn testing Tuffey from 30 yards while, in stoppage time, Jamie Doran was thwarted on the line by O'Rourke.
