ONE GOAL ENOUGH FOR THE CRUES
Crusaders needed just one goal to get the better of Loughgall at Lakeview Park.
Stephen Baxter's side started brightly, coming close early on when Paul Heatley's cross was nodded just past the post by Adam Lecky while, at the other end, Benji Magee sent the ball just over following a good build-up from Pablo Andrade.
Both sides had their chances before the break with Magee beating the offside trap only to be denied from point blank range by Jordan Williamson while, for the Crues, Ross Clarke beat Berraat Turker only for the ball to trickle just wide.
The deadlock was broken a couple of minutes into the second half when a Paul Heatley ball from the left edge of the area appeared to go all the way into the net, although both Phillip Lowry and Clarke claimed to get the last touch.
Buoyed by this, the Crues went in pursuit of a second goal with Daniel Larmour and Ben Kennedy both going close as the game progressed but, in the end, that one goal proved to be enough.
