NEWRY COLLECT A POINT AT LAKEVIEW
Newry City earned a point in a scoreless draw with Loughgall at Lakeview Park.
Barry Gray's side might have moved in front with around 20 minutes on the clock when Nathaniel Ferris was penalised for a challenge on Donal Scullion inside the area but, from the subsequent spot-kick, Adam Salley was denied by Berraat Turker who dived to his left to make the save.
However, Loughgall looked the more likely to score as the first half progressed with Luke Cartwright flicking a near post header just over while Ferris sent over a cross for Leon Boyd but the on loan winger from Glentoran couldn't keep his effort on target.
After the break Salley came close again only to see Turker flick his header away for a corner but in a scrappy second half chances were few and far between until a flurry in the closing moments with the Villagers again coming closest to making the breakthrough.
Caolan Loughran had an opportunity when he rose highest to meet a Pablo Andrade free-kick only to head off target, followed by a Ryan Waide attempt before, in the closing stages, Benji Magee was thwarted by a reflex stop from City keeper Conor Mitchell.
