GLENS HIT BANNSIDERS FOR SIX
David Fisher hit a hat-trick as Glentoran stormed to a six-goal defeat of Coleraine at the BetMcLean Oval.
Fisher needed just 35 seconds to open the scoring when he pounced on a wayward back header from Jake Wallace to keeper Rory Brown and tapped into the empty net.
He almost followed up with a second on ten minutes but was denied by a goalline clearance from Andy Scott but it wasn't all one way traffic as the game progressed with Jack Scott testing Oliver Webber at the other end while Scott volleyed just over from the edge of the area.
Lee Lynch then had a couple of opportunities in as many minutes, sending one across the face of goal and just past the far post before then just missing the target at the near post before Scott burst into the area only to fire straight at Webber.
However, Glentoran hit back to double their lead on 43 minutes with Fisher's second of the game when he cut inside Wallace to fire a low right-foot shot past Brown at the near post.
Fisher's hat-trick goal duly arrived four minutes after the interval, this time from the spot after Kieran Farren was adjudged to have upended Junior Uzokwe in the box.
Uzokwe then took over the scoring duties just three minutes after that when he was allowed to cut his way through the defence to slot past Brown.
Then, remarkably, he struck again barely a couple of minutes later. An initial effort from Fisher came back off the woodwork, with Junior on hand to tuck away the loose ball from close range.
Bobby Burns completed the scoring just after the hour when he found himself in space to unleash a right foot finish into the borrom corner from just inside the area.
