LARNE EDGE OUT CRUES
A goal towards the end of each half helped Larne to a Friday night victory over Crusaders at Seaview.
A lively opening ten minutes or so produced opportunities at both ends, with the Crues almost seizing the advantage with barely two minutes on the clock when Philip Lowry got on the end of a Jarlath O'Rourke cross only to fire straight at Rohan Ferguson.
Larne responded with a Levi Ives cross from the left towards Andy Ryan but he couldn't make the most of the chance, before play switched again for Jordan Forysthe to test the visiting keeper.
But that bright start didn't manifest itself for the remained of the first half until deep into stoppage time when Larne moved in front courtesy of a powerfully struck Joe Thomson effort after Ives had rolled a free-kick into his path.
The Crues might have levelled a few minutes after the break when the loose ball from an Adam Lecky fell for Heatley but he could only fire wide from close range.
Heatley threatened again just after the hour when, from a Billy Joe Burns ball over the top, he saw his shot on goal from an acute angle kept out by Ferguson.
Larne came close to bagging a second with around a quarter-of-an-hour remaining after Craig Farquhar got past his mark to create some space for himself before turning the ball towards goal, but Crues keeper Jonny Tuffey did well to deny his effort.
However, with eight minutes remaining, the visitors did bag their second when Ryan laid the ball off for Ives who duly travelled down the left past the home defence before playing it back for Leroy Millar to sweep home from close range.
