BACK TO BACK WINS FOR SKY BLUES
Ballymena United recorded back to back wins for the first time since January with a narrow defeat of Glenavon at Mourneview Park.
Both sides had a chance apiece in what was an otherwise quiet start to the game with Donal Rocks sending a curling effort just wide while, for Glenavon, Peter Campbell's left foot effort met a similar fate.
Stephen Teggart then later tested United keeper Sean O'Neill with a snapshot.
But, on 36 minutes, the deadlock was broken by what proved to be the only goal of the game when Ballymena's Scottish midfielder, Fraser Taylor, picked up the ball in his own half and cut through the home defence before finding the bottom corner with a superb left-foot finish from the edge of the area.
Chasing the equaliser, Glenavon pushed throughout the second half with Aaron Prendergast firing an effort across the face of goal early on, while Teggart dragged an attempt wide before Danny Wallace's downward header was kept out by O'Neill.
Further opportunities came when Prendergast saw another shot blocked before in stoppage time Teggart blazed over at the back post just ahead of a Calum Birney header from Wallace's cross suffering a similar outcome.
