VILLAGERS END A GOOD YEAR ON A HIGH
Loughgall wrapped up a memorable year for the club with a convincing victory over Coleraine at The Showgrounds.
Ciaran McGurgan's side dominated the opening exchanges, threatening through efforts from Ben Murdock, Andrew Hoey and Benji Magee.
It was perhaps no surprise, then, that the Villagers eventually found a way through on 37 minutes when the on form Magee went on a run down the left before cutting in to fire a low shot past keeper Gareth Deane from an acute angle.
The Bannsiders responded positively, and duly levelled early in the second half thanks to a close range Davy McDaid tap in after Lee Lynch had squared the ball into his path.
But the Villagers hit back almost immediately to regain the advantage when Nathaniel Ferris met a ball delivered from the wing to head home in off an upright.
Then, on the hour, Ferris doubled his tally for the afternoon. Magee was upended in the box by Dean Jarvis and, from the subsequent spot-kick, Ferris stepped up to blast the ball past Deane.
