FOUR GOALS, FOUR SCORERS FOR LURGAN BLUES
Glenavon swept to a comfortable Boxing Day victory over bottom of the table Newry City at The Showgrounds.
The Lurgan Blues needed just five minutes to seize the advantage when Danny Wallace controlled a ball into the box before blasting a strong strike past Steven Maguire.
Stephen Teggart doubled Glenavon's lead midway through the first half after linking up with Peter Campbell to finish from close range.
Then, just before the half-hour mark, Niall Quinn added a third after finding space in the box to fire past Maguire into the bottom right corner.
Campbell might then had made it 4-0 only to send a strong strike crashing off the right post but Stephen McDonnell's side had to wait until 12 minutes from time to find their fourth goal when Aaron Prendergast burst into the box before firing between Maguire's legs.
