MILESTONE FOR OWENS AS CRUES WIN THROUGH
Goals from Jarlath O'Rourke, Paul Heatley and Jordan Owens helped Crusaders defeat Glenavon at Mourneview Park.
Although the first half was a largely quiet affair, the home side might have gone in front early on when Niall Quinn's corner found Calum Birney at the back post but his close range effort came back off an upright.
However, it fell to the visitors to find a way through moments from the break when O'Rourke stabbed the ball home at the back post after connecting with Ross Clarke's cross.
The Crues doubled their advantage midway through the second half courtesy of Heatley's 12-yard finish after Lloyd Anderson had dummied Clarke's cross into his path.
Glenavon did pull one back nine minutes after that, however, when Crues keeper Jonny Tuffey failed to hold onto Jack Malone's 35-yard free-kick.
But the Crues made sure of the points a couple of minutes into stoppage time when Owens nodded home his 250th career goal for Stephen Baxter's side after rising highest to beat Rory Brown to the ball.
