FRIDAY NIGHT DELIGHT SENDS LARNE TOP
Larne moved back to the top of the Sports Direct Premiership - at least overnight - with victory over Glentoran at Inver Park.
The defending champions opened the scoring as early as the tenth minute when Andy Ryan beat Patrick McClean to a loose ball in the box before firing home from an acute angle.
And Larne might have doubled their advantage midway through the first half after Sean Graham played the ball into the box for Joe Thomson to connect with, but his resulting strike fell just wide of the right post.
Then, moments from the break, it was Jaziel Orozco's turn to narrowly miss the target after the ball fell for him from a deflected Leroy Millar effort.
But Larne did extend their lead eight minutes into the second half when Millar went one better from close range after meeting Levi Ives' pass from the right.
Ryan came close to adding a third as Tiernan Lynch's side looked to kill the game off, but he was denied by a superb reflext stop from Aaron McCarey after Millar had teed him up.
Glentoran ensured a nervy finish to proceedings, however, when David Fisher pulled one back on 69 minutes with a cool and controlled strike past Rohan Ferguson after Cameron Palmer had won possession to create the opening.
Larne could have restored their two-goal cushion late in the game after Ryan found Lee Bonis at the back post but he could only send his effort wide.
