CLINICAL GLENS THUMP SORRY SKY BLUES
Glentoran turned in a five-star performance to thump a beleagured Ballymena United at the BetMcLean Oval.
The Glens moved in front on 23 minutes through Aidan Wilson after he connected with Cameron Palmer's corner to send a bullet header past Sean O'Neill at the back post.
Junior Uzokwe doubled up three minutes after that with a low shot after swivelling to meet a Daire O'Connor knock down.
Then, just before the half-hour mark, Junior bagged his brace at the back post after Jonathan Russell had knocked the ball across the face of goal.
James Singleton then added number four on 36 minutes with a first time volley into the top corner from another Palmer delivery that had been helped on into the area by O'Connor.
The scoring continued five minutes into the second half when David Fisher took a touch after collecting a Niall McGinn pass before firing over O'Neill from just inside the area.
And Ballymena's misery was compounded later in the game following Donal Rock's dismissal for collecting two yellow cards in quick succession.
