LURGAN BLUES KEEP ON WINNING
Glenavon clocked up a fourth successive league victory with a two-goal defeat of Loughgall at Mourneview Park.
Isaac Baird opened the scoring for the Lurgan Blues as early as the second minute when he was quickest to react after Villagers keeper Berraat Turker had fumbled a Niall Quinn corner.
The visitors might have levelled with around a quarter-of-an-hour on the clock, but Ben Murdock's header from Mark Patton's free-kick was gathered by Rory Brown.
Glenavon doubled their advantage on 40 minutes, however, after the ball came over from the right for Jack Malone to send a low, hard effort beyond Turker into the net.
And Stephen McDonnell's side might have gone in at the break further in front when Aaron Prendergast connected with Peter Campbell's ball from the right only to crash his effort off the crossbar.
Chances were somewhat scarce after the break, although Malone did come close to doubling his tally from distance when he attempted to beat Turker from 40 yards only for the ball to drift wide.
Malone threatened again late on when, following a well worked free-kick, he fired through a crowded box but Turker was alert to smother the ball.
