ALL SQUARE AT THE SHOWGROUNDS
Coleraine and Glentoran played out a scoreless draw in front of the Sky Sports cameras at the Showgrounds.
The visitors got off to a bright start when Jay Donnelly flashed an effort past the post as early as the third minute while, for the Bannsiders, Josh Carson dipped a left-foot shot just over the top after a quarter-of-an-hour.
Donnelly threatened again for Glentoran with an attempt from distance but Gareth Deane proved equal to the challenge before Junior Uzokwe failed to find the header with a target from close range.
And Warren Feeney's side poised further danger in the closing moments of the first half after Cameron Palmer floated over a cross from Jonathan Russell but he just failed to make the connection on the edge of the six yard box.
Chances proved to be very much of a premium after the break with the Glens crafting perhaps the first real effort of note with around a quarter-of-an-hour remaining when Daire O'Connor cut in from the wing before offering up a low right-foot shot which Deane had to dive full length to turn away from goal.
Coleraine responded with a chance of their own a couple of minutes later after Matthew Shevlin got away from the defence only for Aaron McCarey to save at his feet.
Then, in the closing stages, Oran Kearney's side might have snatched all three points only for Shevlin to miss the target with a left-foot effort after being teed up by Jack O'Mahony.
