LURGAN BLUES EDGE OUT SWIFTS
Glenavon picked up their second win in succession with a one-goal defeat of Dungannon Swifts at Mourneview Park.
Dungannon might have broken the deadlock midway through the first half after Matthew Lusty was given too much time and space on the edge of the area only to turn and shoot against an upright before the ball fell to safety.
The Lurgan Blues made the most of that reprieve by grabbing the advantage themselves on 34 minutes. A Conor McCloskey cross the from right cannoned back off the crossbar before falling for Aaron Prendergast to send a composed finish past Conor Mitchell.
After the break the Swifts came closest to grabbing the equaliser midway through the second half when Tomas Galvin sent over a cross from Niall Owens but his effort at the far post fell wide of the target.
