BLUES SWEEP PAST VILLAGERS
Linfield swept to an ultimately comfortable defeat of Loughgall at Windsor Park.
The Blues moved in front after just ten minutes through Joel Cooper who sent a deflected right foot effort past Berraat Turker.
Cooper might have doubled his tally a few minutes later only to strike the crossbar from inside the area, before being denied again soon after when Turker made a smart stop.
The Villagers might have levelled midway through the first half when Mark Patton beat Chris Johns only for the ball to drop wide of the far post.
But the visitors did equalise in first half stoppage time after Pablo Andrade unleashed a terrific left-foot volley from outside the area.
Linfield regained the advantage eight minutes after the break when Matthew Clarke knocked the ball home at the back post from Chris McKee's ball across the area.
McKee got on the scoresheet himself four minutes later with a finish into the roof of the net after the visiting defence couldn't clear the ball.
The Blues might have extended their lead after being presented with a penalty awarded for handball but, somewhat uncharacteristically, Chris Shields saw his subsequent spot-kick turned onto an upright by Turker.
Darragh McBrien did add a fourth for Linfield on 70 minutes at the back post from another Millar right-sided cross before, three minutes from time, McKee completed the scoring from close range.
