CLINICAL BANNSIDERS HIT BACK
Coleraine picked up their first league win in three outings with victory over Glenavon at The Showgrounds.
They had to come from behind to do so, however, after Jack Malone had fired the Lurgan Blues in front as early as the sixth minute when the 23-year-old approached a free-kick from 25-yards from goal to curl a right foot shot around the wall and beyond keeper Gareth Deane.
It was a lead Glenavon held until the stroke of half-time when Josh Carson hit Coleraine's equaliser from another free-kick, this time left footed, that went over the wall on its way past Rory Brown.
That was how it stayed until, with just over a quarter-of-an-hour to go, Matthew Shevlin rattled the crossbar as did Lee Lynch moments after that before Conor McKendry eventually found a way through with a driven effort from distance.
Shevlin did get his name on the scoresheet with a couple of minutes remaining with a low finish into the bottom corner, just before McKendry bagged his second with almost the last kick of the game.
