CRUES DOMINATE AT THE SHOWGROUNDS
Crusaders stormed to a four goal victory over Coleraine following a dominant performance at The Showgrounds.
The Bannsiders created perhaps the best chance of the opening exchanges but Lee Lynch's finish failed to trouble Jonny Tuffey after he had got on the end of a Darren Cole ball.
Crusaders moved in front with around a quarter-of-an-hour on the clock. Adam Lecky did well down the left to create the opening for Philip Lowry to send a low right-foot drive from just outside the area past keeper Martin Gallagher.
The visitors looked to double their lead but Paul Heatley could only fire over the bar after being teed up by Lloyd Anderson.
And Coleraine came close to levelling just before the break when Matthew Shevlin connected with Andy Scott's ball across the face of goal but his shot went the wrong side of the bar.
Despite threatening on numerous occasions in the second half it took the Crues until the 81st minute to extend their advantage when Ben Kennedy cut through the home defence to beat Gallagher from ten yards.
Then, six minutes after that, Daniel Larmour added a third with a close range header after Kennedy and Lecky had combined to create the opening.
Jarlath O'Rourke completed the scoring right at the end with a left foot finish from just inside the area.
