BANNSIDERS HIT GLENS WITH LATE DOUBLE
Coleraine fought back from a goal down to defeat Glentoran at the BetMcLean Oval.
The visitors came close to grabbing the advantage midway through the first half when Conor McKendry was played through on goal by Matthew Shevlin but his subsequent strike came back off the left post.
Glentoran moved in front just a couple of minutes after that, however, through James Singleton who nodded Shay McCartan's looping free-kick into the net.
The Bannsiders might have levelled soon after when only Glentoran keeper Aaron McCarey spared Fuad Sule's blushes as he almost turned the ball into his own net.
Indeed, Oran Kearney's looked the more likely to find the net as the first half progressed with Jamie Glackin being denied by another great McCarey stop - and the home keeper was called into action once more towards the break to palm away a Shevlin goalbound header.
Coleraine continued to go close in the second half. Lee McLaughlin hit an effort just inside wide from McKendry's pass, who was then denied again by McCarey moments later.
However, the visitors finally bagged their equaliser with 11 minutes remaining through Shevlin's nodded finish from McLaughlin's ball into the box.
Then, remarkably, just three minutes after that McKendry edged the Bannsiders in front after getting past Sule into the box and fire a strong strike into the bottom right corner.
