LARNE TOO STRONG FOR BLUES
A goal in each half saw Larne get the better of Linfield in a huge Friday night clash at Inver Park.
Larne started brightly with Craig Farquhar and Andy Ryan having early efforts on goal before, on nine minutes, Paul O'Neill broke the deadlock with a strong finish past Chris Johns from close range after connecting with Tomas Cosgrove's perfectly delivered cross from the right.
Tiernan Lynch's side continued to press with Ryan attempting to tee up O'Neill again, before Dylan Sloan fired only inches wide after Leroy Millar had laid the ball off.
But Linfield began to settle and might have levelled only for Rohan Ferguson to deny Chris McKee with an outstretched leg followed by a Joel Cooper header against an upright.
Ferguson thwarted McKee again after the break but, on 64 minutes, Larne doubled their lead to secure the points when Ryan pounced on the ball on the edge of the box to fire past Johns into the bottom right corner.
