McGINN HITS GLENTORAN WINNER
Niall McGinn grabbed the only goal of the game as Glentoran defeated Cliftonville at the BetMcLean Oval.
Scoreless at the break, Shay McCartan came closest for the Glens with a 25-yard effort narrowly wide of Nathan Gartside's near post while Cliftonville's best moment was Ben Wilson's close range attempt a few minutes from the interval.
Wilson threatened again early in the second half with a looping effort that appeared to have evaded Aaron McCarey only for the home keeper to turn the ball over.
Warren Feeney's side were denied again after Jay Donnelly mishit the ball to McCartan who could only blaze over with just Gartside to beat while, at the other end McCarey produced another good stop to deny Wilson at the near post.
However, the only goal of the game came with around a quarter-of-an-hour remaining when McGinn connected with a Daire O'Connor cross to the back post to take the ball past a defender and then beat Gartside from an acute angle.
