BLUES BACK ON TOP
Linfield moved back to the top of the Sports Direct Premiership with victory over Coleraine at The Showgrounds.
The Blues moved in front on 13 minutes when Kyle McClean made the most of some poor defending to burst into the area and send a low effort past Gareth Deane into the net.
Matthew Shevlin came closest to levelling for the Bannsiders only to send a Conor McKendry cross the wrong side of the target while, at the other end, Chris McKee sent a looping header over the top.
Coleraine got back on level terms eight minutes into the second half through Jamie Glackin after he reacted quickest to nod a David McDaid cross home from point blank range.
However Linfield regained the advantage just after the hour through Chris Shields' successfully converted spot-kick awarded after McCean had been fouled by Lyndon Kane.
And the Blues made sure of the points on 72 minutes courtesy of McKee's close range finish from Joel Cooper's cross to the back post.
