CRUES SIZZLE AT THE SHOWGROUNDS
Crusaders continued their sizzling start to the campaign with a four goal victory over Newry City at The Showgrounds.
Ben Kennedy - who hit four on Tuesday night - struck again early in the game to open the scoring with a simple close range finish from Adam Lecky's knock on.
Daniel Larmour doubled up for Stephen Baxter's side around the half-hour mark when Kennedy found him unmarked at the back post to nod the ball home.
And Larmour thought he had bagged his second of the game a few minutes from the break but his follow up from a Lecky saved effort was ruled out following a foul in the build up.
The Crues did extend their advantage on the hour as Lecky finally got his name on the scoresheet after rising highest to nod home Ross Clarke's looping ball from the right.
Then, with a quarter-of-an-hour to go, Lecky doubled up after latching onto a Kennedy pass to lift the ball over keeper Steven Maguire.
