NEWRY TOO STRONG FOR LURGAN BLUES
Newry City won on the road for the second time in succession with victory over Glenavon at Mourneview Park.
Lorcan Forde opened the scoring for Gary Boyle's side on 35 minutes after embarking on a tremendous run before finishng past Rory Brown low in the left corner of the net.
City doubled their advantage early in the second half through Adam Salley when, following good work down the right from Jordan Mooney, he knocked the ball past Brown from close range.
Glenavon pulled a goal back with just under a quarter-of-an-hour remaining after Peter Campbell connected with Jack Malone's inswinging free-kick to head home.
But, with five minutes left, Newry made sure of the points when substitute Brian Healy sent a side foot finish beyond Brown after going one-on-one with the home keeper.
