DEADLOCK AT THE SHOWGROUNDS
Neither Coleraine nor Larne could find a way through at The Showgrounds, although both could have claimed the points.
The visitors created the majority of the early pressure, and might have opened the scoring with just over five minutes on the clock when Lee Bonis offered up a free-kick on the edge of the area but keeper Gareth Deane did well to make the save.
As the game settled down the sides traded chances, albeit with success at either end.
Coleraine's first effort of note came with just less than quarter-of-an-hour on the clock when Conor McKendry had a go from distance while Larne almost immediately went on the attack with Joe Thomson forcing a stop from Deane.
Leroy Millar then nodded a Tomas Cosgrove cross just over, followed by a Lee Lynch effort sailing over at the other end.
Coleraine keeper Deane was then called into action just before the break to thwart Thomson as he attempted to connect with a Bonis cross.
Larne substitute Thomas Maguire almost found a way through early in the second half but could only fire narrowly wide from outside the area.
And Maguire again came close just after the hour with a deep cross from the right that came back off the crossbar before falling to safety.
And, typical of this encounter, the Bannsiders hit the woodwork themselves later in the game after Lyndon Kane went it alone to send a low 25-yard drive off an upright.
Paul O'Neill crafted the last real effort of note towards the end with a shot from outside the area but Deane once again proved equal to the threat.
The visitors ended the game with ten men after Levi Ives was dismissed in stoppage time after receiving his second caution of the game.
