CLINICAL REDS SWEEP PAST NEWRY
A dominant first half performance went a long way in helping Cliftonville defeat Newry City at The Showgrounds.
Luke Turner opened the scoring after just seven minutes after pouncing on the loose ball from Joe Gormley's half volley from inside the area.
Ben Wilson might have doubled their lead only to see his first time effort blocked, with Chris Gallagher sending the rebound wide.
But Wilson did find the target on 28 minutes after Rory Hale and Ronan Doherty combined in a one-two before the former laid the ball off for Wilson to slot home.
Then, four minutes after that, Hale got on the scoresheet after making no mistake from Doherty's cut back.
The Reds might have bagged a fourth after the break when Hale found Sean Stewart with a chipped ball over the top only for the finish to be ruled out offside.
