SKY BLUES BACK TO WINNING WAYS
Ballymena United picked up their first league win since January with a two-goal defeat of Dungannon Swifts at The Showgrounds.
Scoreless at the break, the Swifts had the better chances throughout the first half and came closest to breaking the deadlock when Michael O'Connor was denied by Ross Redman's goalline clearance.
At the other end similar fate also befell David McDaid when his effort was deflected off keeper Declan Dunne before Steven Scott blocked the ball on the line.
McDaid threatened again after the break, sending one 30-yard free-kick curling just past the left post before teeing up Jordan Gibson to go one-on-one with Dunne.
United finally found a way through with three minutes remaining. Again McDaid provided the assist for Gibson to latch onto and fire past Dunne.
Then, a deep into added time, Kym Nelson doubled Ballymena's lead with a superb strike from distance.
