LARNE ALMOST THERE
Larne moved to within touching distance of a first league title with a two-goal victory over Cliftonville at Solitude.
After a quiet start Larne opened the scoring on 28 minutes. Reds defender Odhran Casey failed to deal with a ball over the top with Lee Bonis making the most of the opportunity to slot past the stranded Nathan Gartside.
Aaron Donnelly might have doubled Larne's lead before the break but his shot through a crowded box was eventually cleared to safety.
The visitors did add to their advantage just before the hour, however, after Andy Ryan got past the defence to cut the ball back for Joe Thomson to beat Gartside from the edge of the area.
