PORTS GRAB LATE SHAMROCK LEVELLER
Relegation haunted Portadown collected a potentially crucial point thanks to a late equaliser at home to Crusaders.
The Ports are seven points adrift at the foot of the table but have experienced an upturn in form in recent weeks, and that looked like continuing when - after 33 minutes - Paul McElroy showed great composure inside the area to side foot the ball home from close range following good work from Joshua Archer.
Crusaders levelled just before the hour, however, through substitute Ross Clarke after he pounced the loose ball after keeper Ondrej Mastny had kept out Philip Lowry's initial effort.
Cathair Friel came close to restoring Portadown's lead with just over a quarter-of-an-hour remaining only to send an effort off the post.
Then, not long after that, Lowry edged the Crues in front with a downward header from a left wing cross.
But, with a minute to go, Alan O'Sullivan popped up to salvage a point for the Ports with a low strike in off an upright.
