McGINN DOUBLE SETS GLENS UP
Four second half goals saw Glentoran sweep to an ultimately comfortable victory over Carrick Rangers at the Loughview Leisure Arena.
Scoreless at the break, there was little created at either end apart from half chances from Shay McCartan, Nedas Maciulaitis and Ben Tilney.
That all changed early in the second half, however, when Niall McGinn opened the scoring with an emphatic finish after Conor McMenamin had knocked on a Terry Devlin through ball.
Then, on 65 minutes, McGinn doubled his tally with a shot through the legs of keeper Ross Glendinning from a Jay Donnelly ball across the area.
Glentoran's third arrived with just over ten minutes remaining courtesy of Luke McCullough from 12 yards after he got on the end of a Joe Crowe free-kick.
And Devlin completed the scoring a couple of minutes from time after swivelling to go on the end of a Junior Uzokwe pass to send a crisp finish beyond Glendinning.
