NO ADVANTAGE AS LEADERS AND CHAMPIONS DRAW A BLANK
Larne and Linfield fought out a scoreless draw in the top of the table clash at Inver Park.
Paul O'Neill might have edged Larne in front after barely a couple of minutes only to send the ball straight at Chris Johns after connecting with Micheal Glynn's cross into the box.
Leroy Millar then had a go from distance while, for Linfield, Chris Shields tested Rohan Ferguson only for the Larne keeper to be alert to the threat.
Ferguson was then called into action again to deal with an Eetu Vertainen header at the near post as Linfield ended the first half marginally on top.
However, Larne looked the better proposition after the break, coming close to finding a way through when Andy Ryan cut in from the right only to be denied by Johns at full stretch.
Ryan once more proved a threat as the game progressed but could only send a first time effort wide while, soon after that, he hit the top of the crossbar with Johns beaten.
Larne continued to create the more dangerous opportunities with Joe Thomson sending an effort over and Shea Gordon being kept out from long range.
And Tiernan Lynch's side almost found a way through right at the end courtesy of a thundering Thomas Maguire strike from just inside the area but, again, Johns was on hand to spectacularly turn the effort away.
