NEDAS BAGS SECOND HALF DOUBLE
Two second half Nedas Maciulaitis goals helped Carrick Rangers to an important victory over Portadown at Shamrock Park.
The win moves Stuart King's side into seventh spot whereas, for the Ports, it was a blow to their survival hopes.
Carrick moved in front on 13 minutes through Emmett McGuckin after he nodded home a Maciulaitis cross from close range.
Portadown levelled midway through the first half, however, through Mark Russell when he got a faint touch at the back post to a Paul McElroy cross.
The visitors regained the advantage nine minutes into the second half with Maciulaitis' first of the game, a half volley in off the left post.
Then, with less than 20 minutes remaining, he doubled up with a composed finish into the left corner of the net after creating space inside the area.
