RONAN AT THE DOUBLE FOR REDS
Cliftonville swept to a three-goal victory over bottom of the table Portadown at Solitude.
Ronan Hale fired the Reds in front after 18 minutes with a curling effort past Ondrej Mastny into the far corner after being found by Joe Gormley on the edge of the area.
Portadown responded well to falling behind, and sought out a response through Stephen Teggart and then Cathair Friel.
However, as the first half approached a close Levi Ives might have doubled Cliftonville's lead but was twice denied by Mastny.
Cliftonville did add a second eight minutes after the break, though, when Jonny Addis got clear of his marker to meet Jamie McDonagh's corner to send the ball past the Ports keeper.
Then, on the hour, Hale doubled his tally for the evening with an overhead kick on the edge of the six yard box after McDonagh had lofted over a pass from the right.
