SCORELESS AT THE SHOWGROUNDS
Ballymena United welcomed Newry City to The Showgrounds but neither side could find the net in what turned out to be a scoreless draw.
Despite some early promise there were little scoring opportunities in the first half, although Thomas Lockhart did come close with a long range effort straight at United keeper Sean O'Neill.
Play opened up somewhat after the break, with Steven McCullough sending a free-kick just wide while Donal Rocks later headed a Jordan Gibson corner off the line.
And Rocks himself might have snatched a late winner for the visitors only for his curling shot to be tipped over by O'Neill.
