BONIS GOAL SINKS GLENS
A Lee Bonis strike midway through the second half handed Larne victory over Glentoran at the BetMcLean Oval.
Bonis might have opened the scoring inside the first ten minutes when his effort from a Micheal Glynn cross was deflected away at the back post.
At the other end, midway through the first half, Niall McGinn could have marked his Glentoran debut with a goal only to fire over from a Jay Donnelly lay-off before the roles reversed and Donnelly send the ball just wide.
The deadlock was broken on 63 minutes when Bonis beat Marcus Kane to a cross from wide on the left to squeeze the ball beyond Aaron McCarey's reach at the near post.
Leroy Millar then might have doubled Larne's lead with an effort against the crossbar while Bonis' follow-up wa blocked by Patrick McClean.
Then, late in the game, Bonis flicked the ball into Millar's path but despite going one-on-one with McCarey he couldn't direct the ball past the Glentoran keeper.
