BANNSIDERS TOO STRONG FOR SKY BLUES
Coleraine made it six games unbeaten and kept a sixth successive Premiership clean sheet with a Boxing Day defeat of Ballymena United on the Ballycastle Road.
The Bannsiders dominated the early exchanges and duly moved in front midway through the first half after Conor McKendry's ball from the right bypassed everyone on it's way past keeper Sean O'Neill, although Matthew Shevlin initially appeared to get the final touch.
But Shevlin did get on the scoresheet ten minutes before the break. Jamie Glackin burst past a number of United defenders before laying the ball off for Shevlin to fire home in off the underside of the bar.
The visitors attempted something of a comeback in the second half but they could only really point to a Joshua Kelly header over the top.
Indeed, Coleraine might have extended their advantage in the final quarter-of-an-hour when Shevlin went one-on-one with O'Neill but the keeper did well to deal with the threat.
