LARNE GO EIGHT CLEAR
Larne stretched their lead at the top of the table to eight points with a two-goal defeat of Newry City at Inver Park.
Tiernan Lynch's side moved in front after 12 minutes after Ben Doherty's corner was only partially cleared as far as Fuad Sule who promptly drilled it past Steven Maguire through a crowded box from around 14 yards.
James Teelan might have levelled almost immediately only to fire just wide of the target while, at the other end, Leroy Millar saw his downward header pushed away by the Newry keeper.
Larne doubled their advantage early in the second half when Tomas Cosgrove bagged his second goal of the season with a near post volley from Shea Gordon's corner.
Newry came close to registering again just after the hour following a Donal Rocks free-kick that wasn't cleared with the ball then falling to Daniel Hughes who sent a left-foot strike against the crossbar.
The home side were denied a third in the closing stage when Maguire did well to dive to his right to turn away a Cosgrove header from a Mark Randall corner.
