FRIDAY NIGHT DELIGHT FOR BANNSIDERS
Coleraine bagged a goal in each half as they recorded a two-goal victory over Crusaders at The Showgrounds.
The Bannsiders moved in front after 12 minutes when Josh Carson's 25-yard free-kick crashed back off the crossbar but Aaron Jarvis reacted quickest to follow up with a header past Johnny Tuffey from close range.
Coleraine almost doubled their advantage midway through the first half after Conor McDermott delivered a low ball across the face of goal only for Carson to fail to connect.
Crusaders might have levelled around the half-hour mark following Jordan Forsythe's run and cross down the right but Adam Lecky could only direct his subsequent header just past an upright.
The Crues ended the first half on top in terms of possession and chances, threatening when Billy Joe Burns saw a goal bound effort blocked before Philip Lowry nodded wide from a Ross Clarke free-kick.
The second half started as the first half ended with only a well timed Jarvis tackle denying Lowry before Paul Heatley produced a good save from keeper Gareth Deane.
However, Coleraine doubled their lead just after the hour a little against the run of play when Dean Jarvi did well to cut the ball back from the touchline for Evan McLaughlin to send a scuffed effort beyond Tuffey from inside the area.
Lecky squandered an opportunity later in the game in an attempt to pull one back for the Crues when he fired straight at Deane from around six yards.
