Portadown recorded their first win of the Danske Bank Premiership campaign with victory over Newry City at The Showgrounds.
Scoreless at the break, the Ports needed just three minutes of the second half to break the deadlock when Lee Upton rifled into the bottom corner after a Patrick McNally header fell into his path.
Greg Moorhouse made it 2-0 with a goal of the season contender on 67 minutes when, around 35 yards from goal, he spotted keeper Steven Maguire off his line and unleashed a perfectly weighted dipping volley into the net.
And, to make sure of the victory, Jordan Jenkins added a third with ten minutes to go with a tap into the unguarded net after Maguire slipped whilst attempt to control a back pass.
Newry did pull one back not long after that through John McGovern with a stooping header but any hopes they had to staging a sensational late comeback were dashed when Ryan McGivern was shown a straight red card after a bringing Jenkins down as he bared down on goal.
