EETU BAGS TWO FOR BLUES
Eetu Vertainen bagged two goals inside the opening half-an-hour as Linfield swept to victory over Carrick Rangers at Windsor Park.
The Finn fired the Blues in front as early as the second minute after connecting with Matthew Clarke's cross from the left to knock the ball over the line from three yards.
Then, on 28 minutes, he made it 2-0 with a perfectly timed run to get on the end of Jimmy Callacher's through ball before making no mistake in front of goal.
That was how it stayed until ten minutes from time when Ben Tilney pulled one back for Carrick with a low and hard finish at the back post into the bottom right corner.
However Robbie McDaid restored Linfield's two-goal lead in stoppage time.
