CAMPBELL FIRES SWIFTS TO THE POINTS
Rhyss Campbell bagged the only goal of the game as Dungannon Swifts picked up a rare three points with victory over Glenavon at Stangmore Park.
The 23-year-old struck on 70 minutes when he connected with James Knowles' corner to volley past keeper Rory Brown.
Indeed, Campbell might have opened the scoring at the start of the game with a 20-yard drive which Brown did well to turn around the post.
Further efforts followed later in the first half through Campbell again and then Ryan Mayse while, for Glenavon, Isaac Baird and Peter Campbell sent the ball just wide of the target on separate occasions.
Dungannon were denied the opener midway through the second half when Sean Ward cleared a Michael O'Connor shot off the line, with Micheal Glynn then sliced the ball just wide a little while after that.
After going in front Joe McCready might have added a second for the home side but, again, the ball dropped wide. And Campbell had another chance in the closing moments only for Brown to make a one handed save.
