TWO IN A ROW FOR NEWRY
Newry City made it two wins in four days with victory over Carrick Rangers at The Showgrounds.
Donal Rocks opened the scoring for Darren Mullen's side just before the half-hour mark when he headed home the rebound after an initial effort had been kept out by Ross Glendinning.
Carrick levelled just before the break, however, after an Andrew Mitchell free-kick took a deflection on its way past Steven Maguire.
Newry restored their advantage on 64 minutes through Philip Donnelly's volley from close range before, three minutes after that, James Teelan pounced on the loose ball from a blocked Rocks effort to add a third.
And Teelan completed the scoring with seven minutes remaining after connecting with a Dale Montgomery pass to double his tally.
