CURRAN DOUBLES UP FOR THE REDS
Ryan Curran bagged both goals as Cliftonville defeat Dungannon Swifts at Stangmore Park.
A bright start from the Reds saw Ronan Hale test the Swifts defence and keeper Declan Dunne on numerous occasions without success, although Joe McCready did pose a threat for the home side too.
Curran opened the scoring midway through the first half with a rolled finish into the corner of the net after connecting with a Ronan Doherty long ball into the area.
Hale might have added a second moments from the break only to smash a volley off the crossbar while his brother Rory saw a header bounce just wide.
But Curran doubled Cliftonville's advantage on 66 minutes with a header from six yards beyond Dunne after Luke Turner had lifted a cross into the box.
The Swifts might have grabbed a late consolation only for Ben Gallagher's run and shot down the right to come back off the inside of an upright.
