NEWRY STAGE LATE RALLY TO GRAB THE WIN
Two late goals saw Newry City come from behind to defeat Portadown in the evening kick-off at Shamrock Park.
Scoreless at the break, Alberto Balde edged the Ports in front just three minutes into the second half with a finish from six yards into the far corner afer Reece Jordan delivered the ball into his path.
It proved to be a short lived advantage, however, after Daniel Hughes converted from the spot barely three minutes later awarded after he had been fouled by Mark Russell.
That was how it stayed until the closing moments when James Teelan edged Newry in front after making no mistake from close range before, deep into stoppage time, Ciaran O'Connor added a third when his ball hit one post, rolled across the line, hit the other post and eventually ended up in the net.
