MILLAR AND RANDALL ON TARGET TO SEND LARNE TOP
Larne moved to the top of the Danske Bank Premiership courtesy of a two-goal victory over Newry City at The Showgrounds.
Scoreless at the break, Larne did enjoy the bulk of possession albeit without creating much in front of goal.
Aaron Donnelly almost found a way through just after the half-hour mark with a guided ball towards the back post which almost crept over the line.
After the break, Newry's Daniel Hughes came closest to opening the scoring with a curling effort towards goal that looked like it would register only to clip an upright instead.
Larne eventually sealed the game with a couple of goals either side of the hour mark.
Leroy Millar opened the scoring on 59 minutes after connecting with a low driven cross at the near post before, just three minutes after that, substitute Mark Randall powered a header past Steven Maguire from Fuad Sule’s right-sided cross.
