SWIFTS BAG FIRST WIN
Dungannon Swifts clocked up their first win of the campaign with a two-goal defeat of Portadown at Stangmore Park.
Dean Shiels' side needed just 21 seconds to race into the lead when Rhyss Campbell swivelled to fire into the corner from ten yards after James Convie's initial effort was blocked.
The sides traded chances as the first half progressed as Jason Akiotu and Jordan Jenkins were denied equalisers by Declan Dunne while Ryan Mayse saw an effort from the edge of the area kept out by Jethren Barr.
But Dungannon doubled their advantage a couple of minutes into the second half when Mayse went one better from the spot, awarded after Michael Ruddy had been upended by Tumelo Tlou.
Joe McCready might have added a third later in the game with a curling 20-yard drive while Barr also thwarted Mayse after that.
Portadown came close to grabbing a consolation in the last ten minutes but Patrick McNally's header from a corner crashed back off the crossbar.
