LARNE LEAVE SHAMROCK PARK WITH THE POINTS
Larne maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a one-goal victory over Portadown at Shamrock Park.
Paul O'Neill knocked home what proved to be the only goal of the game just before the half-hour mark when he headed past Jethren Barr after Ben Doherty had floated the ball into the area.
Larne were good value for their lead having had created a number of opportunities with Lee Bonis, O'Neill and Doherty all coming close.
O'Neill might have doubled his tally on the hour but his header from Fuad Sule's cross went just over.
Other efforts followed from Bonis and Matthew Lusty but, in the closing moments, Portadown might have levelled only for Katlego Mashigo to drag an effort across the face of goal.
