FIVE-STAR CARRICK END ON A HIGH NOTE
Carrick Rangers stormed to a five-goal victory over Portadown at Shamrock Park.
Stuart King's side moved in front on 19 minutes through Matthew Carson who connected with Thomas Scully's cross before tucking the ball into the bottom corner.
Carson then doubled up a quarter-of-an-hour later with a rifled finish past keeper Ronan Burns before, just moments from the break, skipper David Cushley added a third with a glancing header in off the crossbar.
The scoring continued on 56 minutes when a Carson cross was turned home at the near post by Jordan Gibson.
Then, with 14 minutes remaining, Reece Glendinning rounded the afternoon off with a finish into off an upright.
A positive end to the season for Rangers while Portadown go into the promotion/relegation play-offs with Annagh United next week.
