McDAID DOUBLE SENDS LARNE INTO PLAY-OFFS ON FORM
Larne limbered up for the European play-offs with a 2-1 win away to Irish Cup finalists Crusaders.
David McDaid had the ball in the net for the visitors after ten minutes when he got on the end of a Lee Lynch pass but the 'goal' was ruled out offside.
Lynch then had a go himself only to see his shot turned away by Neil Shields but this proved to be the last real effort of note in an otherwise quiet first half.
Larne edged in front just before the hour mark after Andy Scott played McDaid clear in the box and he wasted no time in firing past Shields into the bottom corner.
And McDaid doubled Larne's advantage on 71 minutes when he cut in from the left to slip a right-foot finish past Shields into the far corner of the net.
The Crues bagged a consolation in the closing moments, however, after Aidan Wilson unleashed a terrific strike from the left corner of the area high into the net at the near post.
